Development status of non-woven fabrics manufacturing industry

May 22, 2019|

Non-woven production technology is different from the traditional textile technology. There is no need to spin in the textile process. Its textile technology is similar to paper-making technology, also known as non-woven. The main raw materials are polyethylene and polypropylene plastic particles, which are by-products of petroleum refining. After melting and spinning at high temperature, short fibers or filaments are obtained. After directional or random arrangement, they are bonded to form sheets, webs or flocculants. They are called non-woven fabrics because they do not need textiles but have the appearance and some properties of cloth.

Non-woven fabrics can not draw thread when they are used. They have many modern meanings, such as environmental protection, breathability, light weight, moisture-proof, durability and so on. Therefore, they are widely used in disposable goods, non-woven jigsaw puzzle, hardbound flour bags and so on.

Non-woven fabrics manufacturing technology was first applied in Europe and the United States, and spread to Guangdong, Jiangsu and Zhejiang in the 1980s. At home, it was initially used to make disposable masks, shoe covers, work caps and so on. The products are mainly exported overseas and used in the labor insurance market. It was not until the mid and late 1990s that the nonwovens manufacturing industry started to develop at a climax. Since then, after years of exploration and development, the non-woven industry has developed rapidly to medical, engineering and other fields. The industry has been running smoothly as a whole, and the growth rate of production and marketing has steadily increased. Some Chinese non-woven enterprises and products have strong international competitiveness.
